AltexSoft Joins IT4Life Charity Project to Target COVID-19 Treatment
Kharkiv, Ukraine – 30 April 2020 – AltexSoft along with thirty Kharkiv-based tech companies is participating in a COVID-19 related charity project IT4Life, initiated by the Kharkiv IT Cluster. The project was launched in March after the Ukrainian government officially introduced the nationwide quarantine. The mission of this project is to unify the local IT community to alleviate the economic consequences of COVID-19 and support the fight with the virus in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region.
Since the launch, IT4Life has raised over 6 million Ukrainian hryvnias and allocated them to the needs of local hospitals and vulnerable segments of the community. The money was used to buy equipment for diagnosis and treatment, which will assist up to 100,000 patients per month. Seven hospitals have already received medical and personal protective equipment.
“As the COVID-19 pandemic already has worldwide impact and the Ukrainian government works hard to minimize its spread, the Kharkiv IT Cluster decided to do what it could on a local level. Currently, we’re cooperating with local healthcare institutions to provide them with critically needed items,” says Oleksandr Medovoi, President & CEO of AltexSoft and Chairman of the Kharkiv IT Cluster Supervisory Board.
IT4Life plans to remain in this fight till the end of August with the goal of raising 10 million hryvnias.
There are, at the time of publication, 10,406 registered cases of COVID-19 patients nationally with 249 of them in the Kharkiv region. Previously, AltexSoft instituted a work-from-澳门网络捕鱼大厅home mode to protect its employees.
